This was what it looked like for people pulling into the main entrance of Nappanee Missionary Church yesterday. We hosted the funeral for Travis Hunsberger, a Wakarusa native who died in the line of duty with the Army in Afghanistan.
It was my first military funeral and it gave me a much greater sense of respect and gratitude for the men and women who are serving and protecting us.
I didn't know Travis, but his family and friends did a great job of communicating what kind of person he was - fun, kind and faithful. I bet I would have liked him.
Thank you, Travis, and all those who are giving their lives to protect us!
