4th of July Weekend

What a great time we had this weekend with friends and family.

Friday and Saturday we went to South Haven, Mich., to see Craig and Jill and Craig's parents. They stayed in South Haven all last week and graciously invited us to join them.

Derry and Janelle drove up with us Friday morning and we had a cookout, then went to the beach, then drove to Saguatuck for dinner and watched fireworks.

Saturday we woke up late (9 a.m. is early for our family), ate a free breakfast at our hotel, picked up some sandwiches and an umbrella at Wal Mart, spent the rest of the day on the beach, ate dinner in South Haven and drove home. The kids fell asleep on the way home and woke up when we got there ... at about 9 p.m. Anyone who has kids knows this is not a good thing. Kids shouldn't take naps that end at 9 p.m. or they will be up REALLY late.

Well, it worked out just fine because there were fireworks over Dewart Lake Saturday night and we joined the Yoders for the show. We got to bed late, but at least the kids went to sleep pretty quickly.

Sunday we slept in late again (9:30 this time) and missed church - which was disappointing. But, we went to my parents' house for a day of swimming and relaxation.

To summarize, we got a lot of sun, water, friends, family and food this weekend - It was great!

Here's some of my favorite pictures from the past 3 days:

There's also some pictures, including a great one of my son, David, and me on Janelle's blog here.
